So, start your teen’s journey to freedom by entrusting them with responsibility in some small things.
For example, if they consistently perform well in school, then they can decide when to do their homework.
If they pass that journey mark with success, give them more significant privileges….i.e.  of staying out later at night.
Sure, they’ll hit some potholes along the way…but, it’s better for them to experience difficulties with mum and dad still around, than later in life when they’re on their own.
We call it the “V” of love because the teen gets more freedom and choices as they get older, with age-appropriate choices adding to more responsibility.
