Traditions and Hope

The anticipation created by the memories of enjoyable family traditions strengthen the neural pathways and make us stronger more hopeful people.
As well as your weekly and yearly family traditions, think about a tradition around each child’s 10th birthday. Allow them to choose a place or activity they would like to go for a weekend all on their own with Mum and Dad.

They will look forward to it and enjoy the planning and thinking about it as much as the event. Keep it simple. Tramping, camping, a stay at a bach can all be activities that give you quality time and some fun together.
