Life's Golden Rule

17-Nov-2016

'Treat others the way you would like them to treat you.’  Luke 6:31

One of the greatest things we can do as a Dad is to teach our children the Golden Rule.

‘Treat others the way you would like them to treat you.’  Luke 6:31

It's known that character is a combination of empathy and altruism.
These qualities are developed over time in our families when parents coach their children and insist on compliance in manners and mutual respect.

One of the most important things we teach our children is to do the right thing because it is the right thing to do.

They will learn this in family discussions around the dinner table, in the car and while playing games.

“What would you do if” questions are a fun way for parents to assess their children’s growth in character in both empathy and action.

•    What would you do if another kid at school took your lunch?
•    What would you do if your friend was being bullied and the other kids weren’t doing anything?
•    What would you do if a kid told you a bad secret at school?
