Family Traditions

“We always do this!” is important for children’s identity.

Creating family traditions are worth the effort.

Today’s experiences are tomorrow’s memories.

Rituals around bedtime
Rituals around mealtimes

Traditions can be as simple as grace before meals

Action Idea
One Dad writes. “I had an exciting weekend retreat with each of our teenage boys in their development from childhood to puberty.
They chose a spot where we could camp and we took along a number of CDs designed to help adolescents make that important transition.
For those two days, we played and ate together and spent evenings listening and talking about personal and sexual maturation. The boys sensed my caring and involvement and I know it was one of the greatest things I as a father could ever have done for them.”
